Hybrid System IndicatorHybrid System IndicatorHybrid System IndicatorCharge areaShows regeneration* status.Regenerated energy will be used to charge the hybrid battery (traction battery).Eco areaShows that the vehicle is being driven in an Eco-friendly manner.By keeping the bar display within Eco area, more Eco-friendly driving can be achieved.Power areaShows that an Eco-friendly driving range is being exceeded (during full power driving
etc.)Hybrid Eco area (HV mode)Shows that gasoline engine power is not being used very often. The gasoline engine will automatically stop and restart under various conditions.EV driving area (EV mode or AUTO EV/HV mode)Shows that the vehicle is driven using only the electric motor (traction motor).*When used in this manual, regeneration refers to the conversion of energy created
by the movement of the vehicle into electrical energy.Hybrid System Indicator is displayed whenThe Hybrid System Indicator is displayed in the following situations:The shift position is in D or S.The hybrid system is started.SOC (State of Charge) gaugeDisplays the current amount of charge remaining in the traction battery. The remaining battery for EV driving in EV mode is displayed in green, and the remaining
battery used in HV mode is displayed in blue. The amount of the remaining battery displayed decrease as the vehicle is driven and
increase when the hybrid battery (traction battery) is charged, electrical energy
is regenerated using the regenerative braking (Regenerative braking) or electricity is generated by the gasoline engine. If the remaining battery is not displayed in green, HV mode is automatically selected
and EV mode cannot be used. To enable EV driving, charge the hybrid battery (traction
battery). (Charging equipment)The hybrid battery (traction battery) is fully chargedThe hybrid battery (traction battery) for EV mode is not remainingDistance to emptyThis distance is computed based on your average fuel consumption. As a result, the
actual distance that can be driven may differ from that displayed. When only a small amount of fuel is added to the tank, the display may not be updated.
When refueling, turn the power switch off. If the vehicle is refueled without turning
the power switch off, the display may not be updated. When “
Refuel” is displayed, the remaining fuel amount is low and the distance that can be driven
with the remaining fuel cannot be calculated. Refuel immediately.EV driving rangeWhen the air conditioning system is operating,
is displayed next to the EV driving range and the EV driving range with the air conditioning
system on is displayed. The EV driving range may shorten even when not driving due to power consumption by
the system. For details, refer to “EV driving range” (EV driving range)Manually updating the fuel gauge and possible driving rangeThe fuel gauge and the possible driving range are linked. If the displays of the fuel
gauge and possible driving range do not update after adding a small amount of fuel,
the displays can be updated by performing the following procedure.Stop the vehicle on a level surface.Press the “
ODO TRIP” switch to change the odometer and trip meter display to odometer.Turn the power switch off. While pressing and holding the “
ODO TRIP” switch, turn the power switch to ON.Continue to hold the “
ODO TRIP” switch for approximately 5 seconds, and then release it once the odometer begins
flashing.Updating is complete once the odometer flashes for approximately 5 seconds and then
the display returns to normal.Outside temperature displayDisplays the outside temperature within the range of -40°F (-40°C) to 140°F (60°C).When the outside temperature is approximately 37°F (3°C) or lower, the indicator
will flash for approximately 10 seconds, then stay on.In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be displayed,
or the display may take longer than normal to change:When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 12 mph [20 km/h])When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/exit of a garage,
tunnel, etc.)When “
--” or “
E” is displayed, the system may be malfunctioning. Take your vehicle to your Toyota
dealer.Liquid crystal displayLiquid crystal displayFree/Open Source Software InformationThis product contains Free/Open Source Software (FOSS). The license information and/or
the source code of such FOSS can be found at the following URL.https://www.denso.com/global/en/opensource/meter/toyota/CustomizationThe gauges and meters can be customized on
of the multi-information display. (Setting procedure)Warning:The information display at low temperaturesAllow the interior of the vehicle to warm up before using the liquid crystal information
display. At extremely low temperatures, the information display monitor may respond
slowly, and display changes may be delayed. For example, there is a lag between the driver’s shifting and the new gear number
appearing on the display. This lag could cause the driver to downshift again, causing
rapid and excessive engine braking and possibly an accident resulting in death or
injury.Notice:To prevent damage to the engine and its componentsThe engine may be overheating if “
Engine Coolant Temp High Stop in a Safe Place See Owner’s Manual” is shown on the multi-information display. In this case, immediately stop the vehicle
in a safe place, and check the engine after it has cooled completely. (If your vehicle overheats)OdometerTrip metersOdometer and trip meter displayOdometer and trip meter display
